The Rotary Club of Global Actions for Refugees and Forced Migrants carried out a targeted distribution in Goma to support women from refugee and host communities. Through our Restoring Lives initiative, 70 women received food items and essential hygiene kits designed to ease immediate needs and protect health and dignity.

What we provided

Each beneficiary received a package of staple food items and a hygiene kit with everyday essentials for personal care. The distribution prioritized mothers and women with specific needs, helping families stretch household budgets and maintain regular participation in school, markets, and community life.

How the day unfolded

Volunteers organized the flow, verified beneficiary lists, and shared basic information on safe hygiene practices. The event also created space to listen and learn—feedback that will shape future activities and ensure our assistance stays practical and relevant.

Why this matters
  • Nutrition & stability: Food support reduces short-term pressure on families.

  • Health & dignity: Hygiene supplies help prevent illness and reduce barriers to work and education.

  • Community voice: Centering women’s priorities makes responses more effective.
